Changes in the Maryland Child Passenger Safety law will go into effect on Monday, June 30, 2008.
Every child under 8 years old must ride in a booster seat or other appropriate child safety seat. (unless the child is 4'9" tall, or weighs more than 65 lbs.
Every child from 8 to 16 years old, not secured in a car seat, must be secured in the vehicle's seat belt.
The back seat is the safest. Children under 13 years old should ride in the back seat.

24 Hour Preservice trainings: This 24 hour series of training is geared specifically to the needs of the family child care provider. Providers taking classes for continued training may choose to take either session of the module or both sessions for credit. New providers (who applied after July 1, 2008) must take all of the classes. The series begins Monday, July 21st. Register for the entire series at once, and get a reduced rate! LSCCRC members pay only $10.00 per class (non members pay $20.00 per class). LSCCRC membership costs $22.00 for one year for Family Child Care Providers. Call for more information: 410-543-6650.
Our annual Open House will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2008 from 2pm-7pm.
The Maryland State Family Child Care Association (MSFCCA) Annual State-Wide Training Conference October 10-12, 2008 at the Princess Royale Hotel in Ocean City, MD. The theme for this year is "Child Care Providers: Educators By Choice". The 25th anniversary celebration will include a dinner/dance on Friday night.
